Once you become a senior citizen, you start wondering what to do next. You are not really equipped to fill all the hours in your day. You don't have enough books to read, so maybe you take a trip to the library to gets some books. Do you have a computer? If you don't, you need one. There is a whole new world out there. You can read up on health matters, check out what is new and where you can find it and you can learn something. How about designing jewelry? Men and woman are good with designing jewelry; see if that holds for you. Maybe you want to take formal classes on jewelry or leaded glass windows and wall art.
A good idea about schooling is try your community colleges for classes and opportunities. Studying about gemology or metalsmithing is an idea many never thought about but sounds pretty good right now. It seems to be something the older generations could and would do. Another thought is quilting. Some people belong to a group of retired ladies who quilt for people in need. They get together routinely and quilt and talk and quilt some more. Quilting is something you can do on your own, but if you long for company, go to the Internet and search for quilting groups in your area.
If you want to sell your quilts, find out where and how and all the rest, use the Internet. Quilts aren't the only thing to make. There is so very much to learn and so very much to make and sell you can't do it all, but you can get started right now. Figure out what you are most interested in and grab for all the information you can get. Go to a library and find answers to questions you will no doubt have.
