Seniors Getting ready for the Fall Season

There are many things everyone needs to do to get ready for the fall season. As seniors (not high school seniors), you need to do to make winter more bearable. You may need to have your furnace checked for need of any repairs, check the chimney and flues. Of course if you live in the South, you may still need to check the heating system and possibly the air conditioner too. This may be one system if you have central air, but they need to be checked anyhow. Replace filters now.

Now your roof may need attention also if you have had some high winds during the summer, because don't you know if you have a lose shingle it will surely leak during a rain or snow storm on the coldest day of winter. Check it while the sun shines.

If you have a garden or flower beds and they need protecting during the winter, now is the time to replace mulch around the base of trees or hill up some soil around the tender roots. When you have beautiful flower beds they will need your attention this fall, so they will survive the winter snows and rains. Now may be the time to trim back some bushes that have grown large during the summer, so they don't rub on the house or roof when the snow weighs them down this winter. Of course if you live in the South, it may be an over abundance of rain that makes the branches droop. However, now is the time to take care of those too. Don't forget to service your vehicles.
