Fall is a mellow season of painted leaves, crisp mornings, football games on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. Grandpa can watch the games and Grandma can plan her Thanksgiving dinner for the family. It is a season for quiet reflection and reminiscing, remembering those who have gone on before us. Holidays are a time to be grateful that we are allowed to spend another fall here on earth with our loved ones.
A wonderful thing to do would be to start in Maine, come down the east coast through New York, Virginia and the Carolinas. Or swing over to Southern Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee going on through Georgia and ending up in Florida for the rest of the winter. To see the leaves change in all of those states would be a reminder of the beauty of this great country and of the great painter who helps Mother Nature create all this beauty on earth.
After Halloween trick or treating, costumes are put away for another year and it would be time for the family to come over the river, to the beach or to Grandma's condo for Thanksgiving dinner. It is a time to be thankful for the wonders of our time on this earth, in this land of the free and home of the brave. Next we must make our plans for the Christmas holidays. Can the children come back to Florida or do we fly up north to celebrate with them? Remember to always compromise with family and make everyone happy.
