Old has an attitude. Old is an attitude in itself. It's not about how much time you have left, but rather it's what you do with that time that is important. If you are feeling blue, you tend to be overly sensitive to negative interactions. Having a bad attitude isn't something you are stuck with, it's something you choose to change. So take those negative interactions and put that energy to better use. Surround yourself with people who love life, young or old. You'll also want to keep a great sense of humor. Look back on the good times so you can tell your stories and make people laugh.
Now that you are a "senior" there are so many perks you can choose from. You get one day of the week that is dedicated to you, and your coffee is almost free. You get social security and AARP. You don't have to ask your boss for a day off, as you are on a permanent vacation. Just think of all the free time you'll have. Remember all the times you said "I would love to learn how to ski or try sky diving." Hobbies will make you feel you've accomplished something. Take that trip you've been putting off; this is your time now.
It's not easy to take on the effects of getting older and what will happen as a result, but if you find your inner strength, you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Keeping a positive attitude gives you energy and keeps you mentally alert. Remember, having a positive attitude can add years to your life!
